Cinematic ethnography and a trilogy of films on postcolonial ecologies and active colonial remains

Read a reflection on cinematic ethnography by Jacob von Heland and Henrik Ernstson, co-directors of The Situated Ecologies Platform. They also place their first film One Table Two Elephants as part of their wider trilogy of films on postcolonial ecologies and active colonial remains, filmed in Cape Town, eThekwini-Durban, and Johannesburg. Their second film is being edited with release in early 2021.

The reflection is part of the newly released teaching material they have created for One Table Two Elephants, released now as free online material.
